John van Helden and Joep Derix came this time not to play football but to talk about sensors, cameras, data and grass.

Together with AeroVision BV, the KNVB and Wageningen University & Research, Yookr is working in the NXTGEN high-tech project TOIS – Towering Imaging Sensors.

The TOIS project provides a new way of collecting data on crops for better control of cultivation operations.
By monitoring crops (in this case the grass of football pitches) with cameras from a fixed position, new applications of imaging sensors can be picked up in crop and soil monitoring.

The project will last two years and come with a roadmap to further develop and roll out this technology.
