MWC & 4YFN: The world stage for technological advances
From 3 to 6 March 2025, Barcelona hosted MWC Barcelona 2025, the world’s largest technology event. With more than 100,000 visitors, 2,400 exhibitors and 1,000 investors, the fair was once again the international hub for innovation and business collaborations.
Within MWC, 4YFN (4 Years From Now) has become one of the most important platforms for startups and scale-ups. This year, there were more than 800 innovative companies showcasing their technology. The focus was on AI, IoT, sustainability and digital transformation, themes in which Yookr is positioning itself!
Onze deelname aan 4YFN stond in het teken van innovatie, netwerken en strategische samenwerkingen. Gedurende vier intensieve dagen hebben we onze visie gedeeld, waardevolle connecties gelegd en veel mogen presenteren op diverse podia.
Our participation in 4YFN was all about innovation, networking and strategic collaborations. During four intensive days, we shared our vision, made valuable connections and had the opportunity to present a lot on various stages.
Official opening with Minister of Economic Affairs
We started the week strongly with the official opening of the Dutch Pavilion, where Dirk Beljaarts, Minister of Economic Affairs, together with representatives of the Dutch innovation ecosystem officially opened the exhibition week. The meeting highlighted the importance of technological innovation and international cooperation.
Superconnectors
One of the most special moments of 4YFN was the Superconnectors event, where only a handful of startups were selected to present their vision. Yookr had the honour of being invited to speak about how data and IoT are transforming the agricultural sector.
During this presentation, we had the chance to present our ‘critical ask’ and connect with a truly valuable connection (super-connector). We had only two minutes to make our pitch, followed by five minutes to ask focused, critical questions to the audience. We then had the chance to make one strategic connection with one of the superconnectors from the audience. This powerful moment gave us a unique opportunity to take follow-up steps and grow Yookr further!
Open Innovation Challenges
During the week, we participated in several Open Innovation Challenges, engaging with companies and experts from the Netherlands, Spain, France, Israel and more. The focus was on how AI and IoT can contribute to sustainable agriculture and horticulture methods, the future of precision agriculture and scaling up smart technologies within the agricultural sector. These sessions not only provided us with valuable insights that we can use ourselves, but also opportunities to collaborate with companies that share the same vision.
Outside these sessions, there were numerous networking opportunities. We attended several networking dinners and an inspiring breakfast session, where we made valuable connections with forward-thinking companies, both inside and outside the industry!
In addition, our stand in Hall 8.1 was the meeting place where we had many conversations with entrepreneurs, visitors and technology experts during the exhibition days. We gave live demos of our dashboard, shared short, powerful pitches and showed our presentation to demonstrate how Yookr contributes to a healthier and sustainable green world!
With a satisfied feeling, we look back on a crazy event, in which we learned and discovered a huge amount. We are already looking forward to the next edition of 4YFN 2026 in Barcelona, where we hope to be able to show again how we use technology to move the agricultural sector forward.
